hi. my name is alice.

I am the founder and creative director behind Go Find Alice Media. My mission is simple: to inspire, inform, and ignite. I believe that storytelling has the power to change the way we see the world and create the urgency and empathy needed for meaningful change. Go Find Alice Media was born out of a desire to use film and art to share diverse voices and catalyze meaningful change. Through storytelling, I hope to help people live a more informed and meaningful life.

So a little about me: I’m a third culture kid (ie. I’ve had the joy and privilege of growing up across cultures and countries, moving and traveling with my entrepreneurial parents). I have lived in Vancouver, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Paris, Los Angeles, Melbourne, San Francisco, New York and Seattle. Better explained by a fellow TCKer Pico Iyer, β€œGrowing up with three cultures around or inside me, I felt that I could define myself by my passions, not my passport,” he says. β€œIn some ways, I would never be Indian or English or Californian, and that was quite freeing, though people may always define me by my skin color or accent. But also, because I didn’t have that external way of defining myself, I had to be really rigorous and directed in grounding myself internally, through my values and loyalties and to the people I hold closest to me."

Over the years, I've gathered some crazy storiesβ€”almost falling to my death on the Great Wall of China, jumping off the most Southern cliff in North America 55 ft down into the Pacific Ocean, accidentally going temporarily deaf in my left ear on a flight to Puerto Princesa, biking through a desert white-out with nothing in sight, nearly stalked and nearly kidnapped in Paris, and many more. I have also witnessed beautiful sunsets over ancient Cambodian temples, Chilean vineyards, and Scandinavian mountaintops. I am so grateful for these experiences as they have made me who I am today.

This blog is a collection of text, videos and photos that I've collected about travel, culture, food, art, photography, and identity. They are strictly my personal views. By sharing some of my thoughts and experiences, I hope to challenge some of the ways certain cultures are viewed and simply share my discoveries with the world.

I love what I do. Visual journalism has become my passport to meeting new people and experiencing new cultures. Storytelling is such an phenomenal tool to create awareness and evoke empathy; a tool to make sense of our commonalities across cultures, communities, and countries. I sincerely hope that my stories will inspire some of you to go on adventures of your own. β™₯

I currently live between Shanghai, Seattle, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
