Verdict/Summary: YES! A traditional casual Mexican restaurant with over 70 years of history (since 1945), Los Panchos is low-key casual spot located in the col. Anzures district of Mexico City. With very fair prices, excellent food and a great variety, the restaurant is always packed with locals from day to night. I had to wait 15 minutes for a table for two even though it was 3pm on a weekday!
The dishes are authentic, hearty and nothing fancy but satisfying. More than a taqueria though they do offer tacos, amongst various other popular dishes such as quesadillas, soups, salads, and various meats (especially famous for their carnitas).
I don't know why but avocados really do taste better in Mexico City. No wonder they add it in almost every dish (even in soup - my first time experiencing this). Always perfectly ripe and of the right texture. UGH SO GOOD.
Recommended dishes: chicken soup & "Arrachera Pancho" (Mexican flank steak)
