overcoming perfectionism / a journey to self-compassion
First things first... subscribe to my vids! ➭ http://bit.ly/gofindalice Hey everyone, today I sit down and chat, for once. I'll be talking about my thoughts and my personal journey on overcoming perfectionism and practicing self-compassion - it's not an easy topic to talk about but if it even helps one person out there, then it's totally worth it ♡ Thanks for tuning in!
I think perfectionism is based on the self-destructive belief that if you run carefully enough, hitting each milestone correctly, you will be happy and content. That is such a myth. Inspired by Dr. Brené Brown's book, The Gifts of Imperfection, I share my thoughts and takeaways on in this video on how to overcome perfectionism, learn to be vulnerable, and how to practice self-compassion.
"Courage is like—it’s a habitus, a habit, a virtue: You get it by courageous acts. It’s like you learn to swim by swimming. You learn courage by couraging." - Brené Brown
