[Shanghai] The Cannery - Restaurant & Lounge
Categories: Restaurant/Lounge, Modern Canadian, Seafood
Address: Rm 106, Bldg 1, 1107 Yuyuan Lu, near Jiangsu Lu 愚园路1107号1号楼106室, 近江苏路**
Price: ~600-800 RMB for two (dinner) without drinks
Verdict: YES! Classy without being uptight, The Cannery is the perfect venue for various occasions - romantic dates, birthday gatherings, casual drinks, business dinners (although I wouldn't recommend a party over six). I mean, what's not to love about fresh seaood, well-executed drinks, sleek and classy decor, and actually attentive waiters? Located on Yuyuan road (not too far from The Former French Concession), The Cannery serves as a great alternative from your usual Waitan 外滩 (The Bund) spots to impress guests. West coast vibes and menu - reminds me of Vancouver & Santa Monica!
What to order: Steamed imported mussels, kingfish tartare or ahi poke, fish tacos with slaw, Icelandic rockfish
In short, The Cannery is a beautiful new establishment located in the heart of Shanghai founded by the same people behind The Nest.
Steamed fresh imported mussels cooked with sake (choice of beer, sake or wine)
Kale Caesar Salad with bacon bits
rhcp Kingfish tartare (¥68)
Catch of the Day - Icelandic Rockfish
I'll be back again very soon. I have a feeling this will be my go-to spot in Shanghai.
